Take only â…“  to ½ of the tender growth available. If you take more than that, you will increase the stress on the mother plant.

Cutting will root in 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the plant. You will know the cutting has rooted in if it resists a gentle tug.

Place the pot of cuttings in an area out of direct sunlight and with good air circulation.

PROPAGATION BY SEEDS

Fill the pots with soil.

2

Press the soil gently to eliminate any air pockets and to create an
even sowing surface.

2

3

Poke a hole of a depth that equals twice the diameter of the seed and gently tap the seed onto the soil surface at desired spacing. It
should be kept as evenly spaced as possible.

4

Keep seeds evenly moist until germination. A gentle spray will give
the seed moisture without washing them out flat.

With your thumb and first finger, gently pinch the soil up around the
stem of the cutting.

1. Liquid Concentrate rooting hormone
Label directions give the appropriate dilution for the kind of plant you
are trying to root. With this type of hormone, you will be able to prepare
the mixture as strong or as weak as necessary for the plant you are
working with.

2. Powdered rooting hormone
Convenient but no way to adjust the level or hormone used. Hormone
level required varies between different plants
